DEFINITION OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE:
Edgar Schein defined organizational culture as a pattern of basic
assumptions in invented, discovered, or developed by a given group as it learns
to cope with the problems of external adaptation and internal integration that
has worked well enough to be considered valid and, therefore to be taught to
new members as the correct way to perceive, think, and feel in relation to
those problems. Organizational culture reflects the values, beliefs, and norms that
characterize an organization as a whole.
INTERWEB
SATCOM LIMITED is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) base in Abuja. Below are
the of organizational culture components of Interweb Satcom Limited;
1. QUALITY SERVICE: One of the major organizational cultures
of Interweb is the Quality Service they render to most E-Libraries in Nigeria,
and other corporate organization. It is a value that they uphold and a company’s values are the core of its
culture. Interweb Satcom Limited frowns at substandard products. Quality Services Always is its watch word.
2. TRAINING OF STAFF: The Company has in its culture “Training of Personnel” –
sending them abroad yearly to obtain professional certificate in ICT. Internet believes that human resources are one
of the major determinants of quality services and success in any organization.
3. MORNING DEVOTIONS:
Like the American Slogan “In
God We Trust”, Interweb devote its Mondays and Fridays morning for praying as a
culture of staring the week and ending the week. Interweb believes that success
comes from God only.
4. LAUNCH OUTSIDE THE OFFICE: As manifested in Interweb Satcom Limited Organizational
Culture, Staff are to take one hour off for launch and not to eat food in the
office during launch time.
